As a prototype designer/developer I worked with an advanced technology team creating new products. I produced then converted concept sketches into functional prototypes using Solid Works. Discussions with multi-disciplined team members evolved and improved the design of the concept. These concepts were then constructed using commercial, off-the -shelf and custom fabricated components that I built in the in-house machine shop. I produced then converted concept sketches into functional prototypes using Solid Works. Discussions with multi-disciplined team members evolved and improved the design of the concept. These concepts were then constructed using commercial, off-the -shelf and custom fabricated components that I built in the in-house machine shop. The fully equipped machine shop included lathes, milling machine, band saw, drill press and various other metal working machines along with MIG and TIG welders . Complex or repetitive parts were produced by local shops from detail drawings produced by me.Strong team work skills were essential for developing and improving new design concepts. I was responsible for specifying and constructing lab-scale water handling systems, selecting tanks, pumps, piping valves and fittings. Once systems were functioning properly I assisted lab technicians with operating the systems collecting operational data. Show less
