Overall supervision of Security Staff, including Shift Supervisors, Security Officers, contract officers hired to assist in special circumstances. Oversee all assignments & direct department projects. Responsible for protecting life & property via enforcement of appropriate municipal & state laws & applicable corporate policies & procedures. Coordinates all emergency measures & proper notifications in event of building or system failures. Plan, schedule, assign & review work assignments. Coach, evaluate performance, & administer disciplinary action. Collaborate on security & safety requirements at all corporate locations. Create & administer policies relating to security and loss prevention. Direct investigations & maintain beneficial relationships with local law enforcement. Evaluate & recommend security & safety equipment for all corporate locations. Responsible for maintaining Emergency Response Plans for WHQ. Provide primary job training & instruction for assigned personnel. Research, implement, & control projects to obtain a level of protection for all Corporate associates, assets, and visitors. Oversee & participate in upgrades of security and safety equipment: access control, CCTV, fire & intrusion alarm systems, case management system, communication devices. Write & update manuals, proposals, training aids, & documentation necessary to reporting, archiving & improving the services of the department. Interview new candidates & participate in new hire training. Recognize unusual or threatening situations & take the necessary action to protect life & property. Direct officers in a proactive & reactive program based on the principles of security and loss prevention. Coordinate security coverage for special events & activities. Act as liaison with outside agencies (FM Global, local law enforcement & fire, tenants, etc.). Schedule required security, fire & life safety system inspections & tests & ensure their prompt completion & documentation.
