The Office of Public Engagement is responsible for creating and coordinating direct dialogue between the Biden-Harris administration and the diverse American public.Prior to serving in his current role, he was President & CEO of The Benjamin Firm, LLC. He was elected Mayor of Columbia, South Carolina in 2010 with a vision of transforming South Carolina's capital city into a talented, educated and entrepreneurial city of the New South. He served as Mayor until December of 2021. Benjamin has served as President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, President of the African American Mayors Association and as Executive Chairman of Municipal Bonds for America. An attorney & corporate director, Benjamin also served as the Senior Fellow for the Center for Financial Markets at the Milken Institute & recently served as the Menschel Senior Leadership Fellow at Harvard University.
