As co-founder and Board Director of the Alice Springs Meeting Place Foundation Pty Ltd I have initiated new models of working towards social cohesion and mutual respect in one of the most pressing social struggles in the nation.As a Team Leader at Burwood Croydon Uniting Church, I have overseen the ministry and social leadership of a diverse and vibrant community. I have used my time in this role to help the church understand how it can use its assets and people to contribute to local placemaking and civic renewal in Sydney.I have a PhD from the University of Sydney in which I critically analyse the cultural and political realities of International Development. As an academic and lecturer I have coordinated and taught a Masters of International Development to leaders across Australia and the global South with learning hubs in Uganda, Egypt and South-East Asia.I am also the Board Chair of UnitingWorld, an organization that supports the global mission and partnership of the Uniting Church. In this role, I leverage my academic research, community development practice, and cross-cultural skills to facilitate effective and sustainable development projects in Asia, Africa, and the Pacific. I am passionate about empowering people and communities through education, advocacy, and collaboration. I have extensive public speaking, communication, and group facilitation experience, and I enjoy sharing my insights and learnings as a lecturer and a musician.
