In June 2011, we proposed to Delegado Tsutusmi, of La Presa, a project of starting a Little League.Our intent was to offer kids with limited resources, or with transportation or family situations, an opportunity to learn baseball, and compete using International Rules of Williamsport.We obtained written permission from Del. Tsutsumi, and began signing up kids at Parque Villa, on Blvd Las Aquas. When we mentioned to the Delegado that the field was too small, he suggested we play at Parque Dorado, that had an unused field, belonging to IMDET.We proposed to IMDET that they assign that field to us, with no rent, under the condition that the league will not charge any quota to practice or play.Well, in 3 months we have 75 kids playing twice a week, on Wednesdays in Parque Villa, on Saturday mornings at Parque Dorado. By next spring we will be able to field a few teams in each category, 7-8 years old, 9-10, 11-12, and participate in the State and Regional playoffs.I would like to personally thank Delegado Tsutsumi, Delegado Castro Leal of IMDET, and all their grouips for their kind support of our project.I invite any and all to participate, best wishes!
