Experienced technologist with a demonstrated history in both technical strategy and development.I have been an active board member for 16 years, the last 6 years within a PLC.I've concluded Technical due diligence for 4 key acquisitions whilst supporting and evolving the onward technical growth strategy and development of our company from the £500k T/O to the £26m T/O organisation with follow-the-sun technical teams and a total of 220 staff (majority Technical) when acquired in 2020 for £79m, 20 years later.My responsibilities have been wide ranging and always flexible to the needs of the business, involving the consolidation of data centres (UK and international), platforms and toolsets along with the important unification of engineering teams into one stronger more scalable operation with tight budget control to achieve the EBITDA demands of the business and maintain on-going platform and product development.As Technical Director I have had responsibility for all aspects of our service including support, software development, networks, systems architecture, technical account management, management for IT solutions across many vertical organisations. I also managed the end-to-end specification and management of a green-field warehouse to provide quality offices and a highly resilient 1MW data centre in accordance with uptime institute standards.My role has demanded the specification and pricing of complex IT solutions for customers and internally for new services and solutions. To achieve this, I engage in commercial and contract negotiation with suppliers to ensure the best possible terms and protection to support my budget responsibility.Central to my philosophy is the drive to use technology to deliver key business function, as well as providing value to complex IT systems in a number of verticals, regardless of sector from JIT manufacturing and utilities, to legal and recruitment. I firmly believe that utilisation of the right technology and automation should deliver fantastic ROI, whilst allowing organisations to concentrate on their core business.Great relationships and communication have been key to these achievements.
