CurrentAbout Child Bridge: There is a crisis in Montana. Nearly 4,000 children are in the foster care system. Each one entered the system due to abuse or neglect experienced in their biological families. Many will never be able to return to their family of origin. Tragically, in many cases, there are no available local foster families to care for these young ones in their time of need. Child Bridge recruits foster families and equips them to journey alongside child victims of trauma, providing opportunities for mental and emotional healing for young lives. Our mission is simple and narrowly focused: to find foster and adoptive families for Montana’s child victims of trauma and equip those families as they care for the children. Child Bridge was founded in 2011 in the Flathead Valley. As the need for foster families continued to rise across Montana, our vision widened to help find families for children in other regions of the state. Operations expanded to Billings in 2015, Missoula in 2016, Bozeman in 2017, and we are launching a Great Falls office in 2018. As a faith-based organization, the Child Bridge model is to mobilize the church to care for the vulnerable. Today, hundreds of Montana children have been cared for by Child Bridge families. While the goal of foster care is always that the child be able to return to their biological family, in some instances that is not possible. In such cases, Child Bridge families overwhelmingly adopt the children in their care. This is a crisis that can only be solved one family, one child at a time.
