Major project for River Island to build, implement and administer a solution to enable unattended operation using HP Openview Operations for Windows version 7.5, HP Network Node Manager (SNMP) version 7.5, Telalert complete with a fall back option in case of failure. Responsibilities included the installation and maintenance of 2 Sunfire 280R servers operating under Sun Solaris version 2.8 and Sybase version 12.0. Main responsibilities included the Administration and Maintenance of the Operating System and Administration of the Sybase Relational Database System. In 1995, part of Orion Insurance was sold, reducing the number of staff, which meant I took on more responsibilities with the administration and maintenance of other systems. Thru hands-on, training and expertise I was able to obtain a greater knowledge and comprehension of other operating systems including Novell NetWare, Windows 95, Windows NT and MS Office.As part of the reorganisation part of my responsibilities also included the operation of the ICL VME system whilst continuing with the administration and maintenance of it.
