Born and raised in Charlottetown, PEI, Steve Coady began his life in the music business as a musician and songwriter. He began his career as a record industry executive with the A&M/Island/Motown division of PolyGram Records Canada as a Sales and Promotion representative for Atlantic Canada. He was soon transferred to Toronto, where he went on to hold progressively senior Promotion positions with PolyGram, Sony, Zomba, and finally Warner Music Canada, in the position he held for 21 years: Vice President, Radio Promotion. In the past several years, he has won multiple industry awards. In addition to being named CCMA Record Company / Industry Person Of The Year in 2016, 2018 and 2019 – and nominated again in 2022 - he was named International Major Label Executive Of The Year at the 2016 Worldwide Radio Summit and Industry Person Of The Year at the 2017 CMAOntario Awards - and nominated again last year.Steve’s professional achievements are complemented by his commitment to philanthropy and volunteerism. He recently joined the board of the Unison Charity Golf Tournament and is an active participant and fundraiser the annual Hockey Helps The Homeless tournament.
