As the Regional Medical Director for Jacobs headquartered in Saudi Arabia, Mobilized 30 of the Cleveland Clinic’s top team to build 5-hospitals for the Saudi Arabian National Guard, partnering with Nesma & Partners. The Jacobs team is providing Healthcare leadership across the 5 sites to ensure Nesma & Partners success as the project contractor. This $2.4 billion projects requires us to build 5 specialty hospitals simultaneously in 4 separate cities, dealing with multiple jurisdictions and inspection authorities. Just getting this project out of the ground and moving forward was a major undertaking while trying to build to U.S. standards and also meeting LEED accreditation for one of the first "Green" hospital projects in Saudi Arabia. Our challenges included coordinating design with an Egyptian design firm unfamiliar with U.S. hospital code requirements (JACHO), suppliers struggling to meet quality requirements, and the ever present language barrier between leadership, on-site supervision, and 20,000 daily workers across the 5 sites. Rewarding yet challenging circumstances at every turn.

Program Director – Cleveland Clinic Abu DhabiLeadership – Recruited to this 4.2 million Square-foot, 364-bed, 5-Star level healthcare facility to turn around a faltering project. Using experience gathered across 20-years of healthcare experience, we doubled productivity, directly monitored performance (KPIs), and minimized lost time and waste. Jacobs was assigned to take hands-on control of the Contractor and direct both contractor and sub-contractor efforts to ensure success. We succeeded.Accountability – We took “Ownership” of every floor in every building. Established reporting procedures and controls so that the contractor could be successful and meet assigned goals. Directed daily activities of 22,000 laborers on site. Mid-project, assumed control of procurement to ensure materials were on site and on time to meet scheduled production goals.Safety – 140 million Man-Hours without a major injury; up to 40 million Man-Hours between Lost Time Incidents (LTI).Lead - 5 direct-report Directors, 29 Site Construction Managers, 30 professional staff, who in turn lead 200 Contractor Leaders (PM/CM), and 22,000 skilled laborers.
