R&R Realty is a full service commercial real estate company serving the Des Moines and Omaha area markets. Services include development, construction, brokerage, property management, equity, capital and technology.RTS (Realty Technology Services) focuses on the technology portion of our services. As an extension of our customers’ businesses, I partner with them to identify their technology needs. Once identified, I utilize our long standing relationships with the carriers and vendors in our markets to then build and implement the solutions necessary to meet those technology needs. I’ve worked in technology in Des Moines for over 20 years. If it’s not something I can handle, I’ve got a large book of trusted resources I know that can.

As a principal in the business process service utilization organization, I partner with various members of our Engineering, Operations, and Support teams. Through the use of Lean Six Sigma and Agile methodologies, we create and drive efficiencies in our internal processes to continually improve our network, and the customer experience.

The primary focus of my current role is working with the teams that make up our organization to identify and implement efficiencies with our processes and procedures. This often requires creating, documenting, and training on new or improved workflows. I also act as a liaison on behalf of our team to work with other organizations throughout Windstream to achieve that same goal. I have been an active member of many projects that have allowed us to realize significant improvements in those processes and procedures within my organization, and within Windstream as a whole.

As a sales engineer I drove large-scale data network solutions through an interactive consultative process. During that time, I’ve was a key contributor to multiple sales teams in the Midwest region, each of which surpassed quota both years I supported them. In 2013 while still maintaining the same title I transitioned into what would eventually become my current role as a Senior Consultant to our organization.

During this time, I joined network architecting team with the principal goal of planning the network’s future and the continued critical convergence of the telephony and data networks. I identified, tested, and incorporated solutions to optimize my company’s business plan.

During this time, I managed various elements of our network engineering teams. I initially managed the core networking division, with accountability for entire routed network (both core and edge, 2 datacenters, and originally included our network security). After proving successful in these areas, my scope of responsibilities were expanded to include management of our fixed wireless and custom data solution teams.

After two years in our network engineering department, I was promoted to Senior Data Network Engineer. This included a lot of the same responsibilities as I had prior, but also including taking on much more of a leadership role. At this time we did not have a network architect position, so this also involved a large focus on being able to continue to adapt and grow the network to meet our customer's needs.

At this point, I was asked to help start up our network engineering department as one of 4 original team members. We built the network for the ISP environment from scratch in roughly just 6 months. Our team was initially responsible for all elements of our ISP network, including all the core/edge routing switching, security, dial-up, and DSL.

At the time I joined Iowa Telecom, the company was just a few months old, and so I was given the unique opportunity, along with my team members, to help grow not only our department, but our company as a whole. After a short time with the company, I was promoted to a Specialist II role which included a stronger focus on sales and quota achievement. Throughout my time as a solution specialist I was able to show a continued ability to meet or exceed my sales objectives.

USWest (Qwest) provided me with invaluable training in terms of the consultative style sales process I still use today. During my time at USWest, I was responsible for handling inbound customer calls, and working with those customers to answer any questions, solve any problems, all identifying services that may help them meet their needs. Throughout my time at USWest I was able to meet or exceed any and all sales objectives on a continual basis.
