I have extensive transformation experience, consistently delivering successful change management and growth strategies over the course of a forty-year career. Across a number of different sectors including Retail and Retail Supply Chains; Importing, Wholesale and Distribution; FMCG; Engineering; Property Management, and the Service Sector.I have experience of business start ups, when as Finance and Commercial Director of T&A Footwear I presided over a significant increase in annual turnover and profits. I managed all financial and operational aspects of the business, maintaining supply chain efficiencies and introducing effective start up and long term strategic planning for sustainable growth: dispensing with external funding by creating a cash positive platform. I have also undertaken a number of strategic hands on transformation roles, working closely with owners;Evaluating and refining systems and procedures and developing the strategy to pave the way for a successful business sale of Yates and Suddell.Implementing vital operational, financial and strategic changes at Dooa Wholesale following the death of the founder and driving force of the business.Introducing new corporate management and reporting structures to allow the owner of ISA to step back from the day to day management of his £40m t/o business.Implementing changes to the sales processes at ISA resulting in margin growth of 45%, adding £1m to profits.I have demonstrably strong Financial Skills; for example installing new and rigorous financial disciplines to enable ongoing bank support for Intimates Lingerie and changing the reporting emphasis at the BFA to focus on its real financial position.I successfully managed the turnaround of Giusti Engineering and Lillywhites (both Trusthouse Forte subsidiaries), returning both companies to profit within a short period of being appointed, each of them with a much more solid foundation for future growth. In terms of International Experience, I helped set up and manage the T&A Footwear China Office and managed the Finance Teams for ISA in Hong Kong, Spain and Italy.I enjoy the challenge of working closely with business owners to deliver their goals, ambitions and dreams and love the fast changing environments of SME's and being able to add value to their growth potential.
