I held total responsibility for an e-Commerce start-up client, which involved building a network infrastructure and developing a comprehensive IT strategy. I had day to day management of the enterprise-wide infrastructure and support for both general and system development. I managed an internal staff of two and external resources on an as-need-basis.Designed and implemented a European network spanning England and Spain from concept to full operational status within budget and 8 weeks ahead of schedule.

Directed Level III support on Novell and Microsoft products to an IT staff of 20 and provided central management for all international third party support companies. Developed and implemented disaster recovery plans for all IT environments.Designed and installed a new server infrastructure based on the TCP/IP protocol for locations in London, New York, Miami, Houston, Sydney, Singapore, and Hong Kong.Developed and implemented an infrastructure to support a global paperless office environment project worth in excess of $12M that was completed 5 months ahead of schedule.I handled all international year 2000 preparations which included testing disaster recovery plans at all worldwide locations.

Managed a diverse range of network projects, including systems migrations, software roll outs, quality assurance, and security. Created IT quality system documentation to ensure conformity with standards of the company's European operations. Developed and implemented an overhaul of the help desk function, which included the introduction of a new Fault Call logging system, service level agreements, and new monthly review processes; this overhaul improved performance on system calls 300% while producing 98% user satisfaction.Successfully migrated Novell servers to Windows NT Alpha Servers located across the UK in preparation for a new SAP R3 implementation that included the largest dye house in Europe. I was able to reduce total cost of ownership by 25% through standardization of desktops and software and increase productivity and efficiency substantially by raising system availability by 43%.
