Working with dynamic colleagues on international development and education through cross-sector partnerships that involved over 30,000 participants, 150 academic institutions and corporations, $100M, and NGOs with community-based partners in 27 developing countries. Peacework guides program development and planning, logistical support, risk management, and staffing appropriate to each setting. Projects are designed to meet tangible human needs, promote economic opportunity and social change, and reinforce cooperation across cultures. Projects have improved the living conditions in more than 30 children's institutions in Russia, construction of more than 20 schools and a hospital in Vietnam, education and agriculture and entrepreneurship in Belize, medical services in Haiti and Honduras, community development in the Dominican Republic and Peru and Costa Rica, clean energy in Honduras, health in India and Malawi, and other projects in Ghana, Cameroon, South Africa, Guatemala, Bolivia, and inside the US. The vision of each program is engagement across cultures and truly mutual collaboration that benefits both the host community and people of resource institutions that support each partnership. Projects are designed to be strategic; that is, integrated into the development goals and objectives of the local community while reinforcing relationships, effectiveness, and development impact over a long period of time. Sponsors include Duke University, Arkansas, Texas, Stanford, Penn State, USF, Wake Forest, Oklahoma State, Morehouse, Northeastern, NCSU, Ohio State, Wisconsin-Madison, Virginia Tech, Boise State, Hendrix, Lynchburg, Harvard, Gateway Technical College, and many others. Since 2008, PwC has sponsored a financial literacy initiative that has reached over 10,000 young people and educators in Belize with Peacework. Peacework is also a partner with the Global Solutions Institute, Community Service Alliance, and global NGOs.

Working with tremendous colleagues in the Virginia Community College System and a vibrant ecumenical network of churches and community organizations that support students in their educational endeavors, who are struggling with studies and family, aging out of foster care, or facing crises or crossroads in their lives and career goals. CCM offers personal support, scholarships, community service, motivational seminars, veterans support efforts, and recognition programs to support students throughout their tenure in higher education. In 1986, CCM created a dynamic partnership between community colleges and African American churches called Alliance for Excellence that contributed significantly to a 133% increase in African American enrollment at participating community colleges and annually involves about 2,000 students, peers, and family members in educational initiatives. That program was launched with over $100,000 in grants from the United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church USA, the Episcopal Church, and local foundations and congregations. In 2007, CCM launched a church-related jobs initiative to inform students about career opportunities in church-related fields as diverse as education, community service, ordination, social services, and health. The United Methodist Board of Global Ministries supported the CCM fund for low-income students in the coal fields of Appalachia to pay for food and fuel so students could stay in college. The Presbytery of the Peaks provides resources and contacts for students in crisis and on-going support for outreach and service. Combined outreach exceeds $5M in programs, services, and partnerships since 1984.

Concrete form, foundation, and finishing work on the new Business building at the University of Arkansas of what would become the Sam M. Walton College of Business in future years and a new standard for business education with a global perspective.

Worked for VGC on new construction and installation projects on the Walton College of Business facility at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock (below), and the US Federal Court House in New Orleans. VGC is a large scale subcontractor for interior wood products.

Concrete work for Universal Howard Enterprises, a specialty trade contractor primarily engaged in pouring and finishing concrete foundations and structural elements, on the foundation and towers of the new Barnhill Sports Arena at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
