I am an experienced commercial insurance broker having worked in the industry since 1969.I have been customer facing since I was 21 and providing dependable service for my clients since then, with some customers having been with me for forty years. I am with BiB in Darlington having joined the team in1999.Previously, I started life in the industry with Royal Insurance where I received a superb training in the commercial department before progressing to becoming an "Inspector" looking after Swaledale and Teesdale. After a short time, too short really, I was moved to service part of Teesside including Hartlepool and Stockton. In 1978 I left the Company to work for myself at Dryden Insurance Brokers and, following an approach by Tony Gover, sold the company in 1985 and took a role with the new owners managing the branch network in the North East. Within a year the business was sold to Swinton and as that organization had their own management team there was no role for me and I subsequently joined Westmain Insurance Brokers based in Stockton. This company was then sold to the Heath group and I was employed there until the office was closed at the end of 1998.In my current role I service all aspects of the business community from factories to farms.In my spare time I cycle and still compete on the velodrome at world level in the Masters category, which, as a bonus, has enabled me to see more of the world late in life. I am currently working towards becoming a British Cycling coach and hope to pass on my experience to the local youngsters.I would like to meet business owners and insurance buying individuals who are looking for quality service in an industry where promises are not always kept.
