Technical Lead for Card Testing International's ISO 17025/VISA/CQM/Amex accredited test lab, and ISO/IEC project manager 10373-1, the Test Methods used to certify general characteristics of cards. Currently editing the third edition due for release 2019/2020, an exciting time for physical card quality. Working on an active coalface of test method development has been my most rewarding job to date. Often new tests or products are groundbreaking having not been done before... This has furthered our labs' understanding of existing card tests; allowed for greater test efficiency, and allowed competent testing of experimental card technologies. While this is great for business, on a personal level it is explaining the tests and interesting results that I enjoy most.In my earlier years, electro/mechanical projects were a labor of love, involving the latest electronic ignition systems I could get my hands on to make cars perform and faster and longer than manufacturers could have imagined. After promotion several years of expanding tests and promotion to Senior Analyst and Developer in 2008, the labs 'toys' far out weighed my own. Attending more ISO working group meeting followed, moving to full attendance in 2015. This has enabled first hand knowledge in Card/Passport Construction, Durability, RFID, IC and biometric technologies. Subsequently allowing CTI the opportunity to promote technological growth in the industry through contributions and technical studies to further develop standards.With CTI's test and certification services now in over 35 countries, I seem to be in a continuous state of jet lag.
