Currently manage a team of developers at Barnes & Noble where I have been employed since 1997. Current job duties include, but are not limited to: research, evaluate, recommend, and guide the selection of appropriate technologies and platforms to meet the current and future needs of the company; mentor developers of all skill and experience levels to help them be more effective and work smarter, educate and make them aware of current and future technology trends within the organization and the industry at large, and guide them through finding solutions to difficult problems and/or application development and debugging issues; help migrate and modernize legacy software systems within the organization to bring them up to modern 21st-century standards and performance requirements; identify and implement performance optimizations for both greenfield and brownfield applications to help make the most efficient use of existing IT infrastructure, reduce TCO, and increase ROI.
