Started MINC Services Gold Coast, as a building company with an open builders licence. MINC focused on the Body Corporate industry and provided all trades and services to the industry offering general building maintenance, Common area refurbishment and Unit refurbishment. During this time I identified a demand for independent Project Managers to work client side for the building committee hence TOTAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT started managing projects for the committees in a client side role.

A&C Lacquer provided 2 Pack Urethane coatings to the kitchen and shop fit out industries, We also developed a glass coating system for splash backs and feature panels which proved very popular at the time. A&C employed 5 workers. During this time we grain filled and applied urethane coatings to all the timber wall and lift panels also all Penthouse Unit doors in the 3 Chevron Towers including the glass feature panels in the lobby of Tower 2. A&C Lacquer was closed during the GFC 2011.

Abrasive Blast Cleaning provided industrial grit blasting and painting of epoxies and urethane coatings at the main factory or from the two mobile plants set up on trucks.Our main customers were: ALSTOM which we supplied our services to substation transformers and cooling towers either at our base or onsite. Also ZINC metal sprayed 11kva tower bases to treat existing corrosion. Local Council - We prepared and metal sprayed and painted a number of road and rail bridges also flood gates. Wellington Council - Prepared, Metalsprayed and painted the Wellington railway station platform structures. Many other challenging projects included ship ballast tank coatings, NZ Army: Unimog and earth moving fleet repainting. - Pulp and Paper processing plant repainting.

Completed my apprenticeship as Fitter Turner and Machinist then moved through to Auckland as a construction workshop foreman. Were we designed and built the new processing plant for various new breakfast cereals with a team of 10 men. In 1990 was transferred back to Palmerston North as shop engineers to oversee the running of the engineering, electrical and carpentry departments.
