I have over 30 years of experience working as an engineering technician for various defense contractors in Salt Lake City. I've spent many hours working closely with electrical, mechanical and software engineers. I currently hold a DoD security clearance, Secret level.I am not one to change jobs often as one can see by looking at my resume. I have found that if I am loyal to my employer, they will be loyal to me.The best thing that ever happened in my life was becoming a father. And now I am a proud grandfather! I am very close to my family and hopefully will be near them for the rest of my life. As a result I do not wish to leave northern Utah.In the early years of my career, I was a production test technician. This is when I learned how to troubleshoot to the component level. Later in my career I gained extensive experience in building, testing and debugging engineering prototypes. I am proficient with the use of signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes and DMM's.I have done quite a bit of technical writing – test procedures, interface control documents, specifications, etc. There have been times in my career when there was no work for me. That's when I showed some flexibility and worked in other areas of the company. On one occasion, I worked as an incoming inspector of electronic and machined parts for nearly a year. I am familiar with the use of calipers, micrometers, thread gages, optical comparators, surface plates and height gauges. My career went in a whole new direction with my current job. I now work in the commercial arena for a company that builds programmable paper cutting machines that are used in the world of arts and crafts. I work in research and development where I test and troubleshoot prototypes.
Listed skills include Security Clearance, Test Equipment, Rf, Electronics, and 17 others.
