Glass Shed successfully amalgamated with Korten during the Covid crisis. Korten has over 50 years of experience delivering exceptional exhibition and events services to clients worldwide. Korten is now building and managing all of Glass Shed's legacy clients.

As Founder and Managing Director of Glass Shed, my principal focus encompassed developing and executing the company’s business strategies and preparing/implementing comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement. Furthermore, I provide leadership to a team of four direct reports across Design, Production, Client Services and Project Management, alongside a team of freelance Designers, Exhibition Operatives and the external Sales Lead Generators.Notable Accomplishments:• Successfully grown the business from early revenues of £85k per annum to £900k per annum and with a forecasted revenue/confirmed business of £1.2m for 2020 (pre-COVID) • Led the successful acquisition of an existing Exhibition Contractor (with production and storage facilities) in 2015, consequently enabling the business to become a full-service operation, positively impacting sales and revenue performance• Spearheaded the initiative of offering sustainable solutions, cutting down on waste and carbon footprint; this new way of working helped to secure new contracts/clients• As part of the sustainable approach successfully reduce costs through recycling materials for further use, changing some of the production processes utilised and ensuring a more thoughtful and detailed approach to designs • Significantly improved client retention and relationships with the implementation of improved post-event follow up to gauge client feedback and experience• Successfully amalgamated Glass Shed with Korten Ltd during the Covid crisis which has ensured continuity of existing client accounts.

I was appointed as Head of Design and Project Management with the core responsibility of providing daily operational leadership to three in house Designers, two Project Managers and external Production Co-ordinators, with the sole purpose of delivering all UK and International projects on time and in budget.Notable Accomplishments: • Strengthened and boosted sales performance by utilising experience/understanding of client’s requirements, providing a full 360 consultative sales process, from attending briefing meetings with prospective new clients, through to providing an innovative design-led approach to the briefing process• Secured cost savings and improved staff engagement by introducing a new company policy to recruit Junior Designers, mentoring and cultivating their skills, growing talent inhouse versus the cost of hiring more expensive Senior Designers• Reviewed and increased the efficiency of teams by providing training on the design knowledge base of manufacturing processes and materials, enabling the provision of simpler more cost effective manufacturing solutions• Restructured project teams and improved efficiencies by splitting design projects to suit specific design strengths of existing teams
