Now it's about enjoying family time, sunshine, kayak fishing, Bucs and Bolts!‐‐‐----‐---------------------------------------------As Senior Vice President of Growth and Strategy (SVPGS), Steve is responsible for the design and implementation of CGS’ short- and long-term business development strategy to ensure the organization’s sustainability and growth. In addition to providing oversight to the Business Development Department, the SVPGS also oversees the Government Relations Department, supervises and leads the CGS Operations Managers supporting Subsidiary Presidents in the management of operating contracts and managesthe Developing Project Manager program. Steve first joined the Chugach family in March 2009 as Construction Operations Manager for Chugach Industries, Inc. In that position, he was able to apply his extensive experience from 25 years as an Air Force Civil Engineer officer where he served in positions at all levels managing and leading installation facility operations, maintenance and construction efforts and organizations. In October 2010, Steve left CII to move to the Chugach Alaska Corporation Business Development as a Capture Manager and was designated the Senior Capture Manager in November 2012. In that role, he developed and implemented process and strategic vision that brought a new level of focus, direction, standardization and effectiveness in the evolving and highly competitive environment within all Chugach core lines of business. Steve Hammock was appointed VP, Marketing and Capture on 1 July 2016 followed by appointment to Senior Vice President of Business Development in December of that year. Following a minor reorganization of the CGS, LLC leadership team, he was appointed to a newly established position of Senior Vice President of Growth and Strategy in January 2020.Steve is a graduate of Kansas State University with a BS in Engineering and received his MBA from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. He and his wife, Joyce, live in Florida and enjoy, among other activities, just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful climate and scenery. He and Joyce have been married for 35 years and are blessed with a son and two granddaughters.
