Renovating property in and around the Lincoln area.

So a little bit about me, I'm 51, re-married and my son lives in Liverpool and I've lived in and around Lincoln in the East Midlands, since I was about 10. I was an IT project manager, but now full time in property for 3 years, and 2023 for me so far has been a bit of a whirlwind to say the least, in a good way.I have had a small portfolio of BTL's since 2005/6 and done 8 flips, so have some experience in property.My last property project was about 3 years ago, which was a heavy refurb and flipped.But now taking a bit of a step-up on my property journey... with my first new build development.For 2 years have been working on a planning scheme of 18 low-carbon apartments on a site in Lincoln with my JV partners Kal Kandola and Sukhi Kaur, which is secured under option agreement. Finally, on the 25th of January, we had full planning granted for the scheme by the local council.So how did I go from refurbs to new-build developments?I first met Kal though the Leicester PPN, about 4 years ago and Kal then launched her own networking event in Nottingham with Liz Baitson, called the Property Support Network, which I helped with the admin of the event and also helped on the day. The PSN East Midlands event is now hosted by Sukhi Kaur and Pete Kemp.We then launched a PSN event in Lincoln, which I co-host with Gaz Ware and we also launched a PSN West Midlands event in Birmingham with Tom Edmunds from CrowdProperty.Early January 2023 Kal and Liz, both fully stepped-down from PSN and passed me the baton of an established networking group and now looking to launch other networking events soon and really build the community.Building relationships first has enabled me to go from doing BTL's and flip's, to now have the team around me to deliver these size and bigger projects and also a great community with the PSN networking group.Be good to connect with others on LinkedIn, as I'm a firm believer in building relationships first.
