I'm an experienced manager having held senior roles in the industry association, vocational education and tourism sectors. I've always enjoyed the services industries and particularly enjoy roles that enable me to take an industry-wide view and engage with members and external stakeholders to make things better than they are. My experience as a Chief Executive gave me a well-rounded set of management skills. I've since developed a strong set of skills and knowledge to become an effective industry advocate adept at working on complex issues with government and industry stakeholders. This type of role brings out a number of my strengths - engagement, planning, understanding the detail, adapting and the ability to make things happen.I consider myself to be a supportive leader who cares about his people. I make a strong contribution to building a positive team environment and enjoy leading teams in an organisation. In my leisure time I can be found having a game of golf or spending an enjoyable day fishing one of the rivers in the Wellington and Wairarapa region.
