I have completed 31 years as a police officer, the final 18years as a Crime Reduction Advisor. I have a broad range of knowledge and experience of community safety and crime reduction. During my career I have specialised in the support of community organisations helping secure funding and with capacity building.Out of work I have played semi professional football for over 20yrs years following which I became involved in football administration to the point where I Chaired a non league club at steps 4 & 5 of the football pyramid. Was also a member of the Board of the Northern Premier League.Appointed a Director of the board of Ashton United FC (non-league step 3) was appointed Vice Chairman, shortly afterwards, and rejoined the board of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League. Left the Board of the Northern Premier League upon promotion of Ashton United to the National League North in 2018 and rejoined again in 2019.Over the past 20 years I have been working with voluntary sector groups and Football clubs getting them 'Fit for Funding' and supporting them with governance and grant applications. Average income generated for each group during a six month engagement has been circa £10,000 with many organisations finding themselves in a stronger position to address funding matters due to their systems and processes having been finely tuned to meet the challenge of satisfying stringent funding criteria from grant givers.
