With over three decades of CEO and board governance experience leading increasingly larger and more complex, multi-million-dollar YMCAs (Y), Steve has deep and broad expertise in driving customer and stakeholder engagement, elevating brand awareness, and designing agile organizational structures that skillfully execute in diverse and dynamic operating climates. Articulate and strategic, he is known for developing compelling, mission-driven visions, and for guiding teams through significant economic, social, and operational challenges to realize transformative ambitions. Steve’s extensive background in every phase of an organization’s life cycle with notable success leading complex financial workouts has generated credibility with corporate investor and philanthropic donor communities. He partners closely with governing boards, c-suite community leaders, and Ys globally and has orchestrated responses to some of the toughest, humanitarian front-line crises including hurricanes, human trafficking, refugee resettlement, and shelters for the homeless.
