Overseeing Engineering, UI and UX recruitment across the business, I organized internal training for the Engineering function plus planned all team building events. Hosting a weekly meeting to communicate business updates to remote staff, I collaborated with the CTO on te design and build of new systems. I co-created the validation pipeline with capacity to vet millions of user records each day and designed and built a real-time emailing system, able to send topically relevant and engaging follow-up email, within 5 seconds of email-open receipt signal. I developed and oversaw a new technical hiring funnel, encompassing recruiter sourcing, initial candidate screening, selling and on-site interviewing and created two new technical interviewing sessions and consolidated them with traditional WHO interview protocols. I also trained engineers to interview, extend offers, negotiate salaries, and successfully employ candidates.

Spearheading Engineering activities plus planning, building, and maintaining core backend systems, utilized for the collation of data, user profiles, and email distribution, I hired four backend engineers and reported to CTO. Optimizing work processes to align with business objectives, I utilized Agile/Scrum methodology to merge controlled planning-estimation and rapid weekly engineering cycles. Complying with the organization’s quality, coding, and testing standards plus regulatory requirements, across code reviews, internal training, and work processes, I co-designed, coordinated delivery, and maintained, a high-capacity data pipeline, featuring real-time processing that powered bulk of company’s infrastructure. This system comprised a cloud-based chain of horizontally scalable, Python-written, micro-services, connected via Apache Kafka topics, with the ability to archive and process more than 1 billion events (1TB of raw data) daily. Data was archived in S3 and directly available to analysts on an Amazon Redshift cluster with below 10-minute latency. The pipeline’s capacity also enables an uncapped number of event listeners to receive and react to events in real-time without affecting ETL and core archival services.

Established a consultancy that provided advice and architected a wide range of technical solutions for clients, I built Django-based web applications, employing superior statistical analysis tools, including Python and C. I taught client source control, Agile project management and amateur-to-intermediate coding and improved the library performance of a client’s proprietary Pandas-like Python Data Analysis API, ‘Qubes’.
