R. Steven Justice is a proven leader with over 40 years of experience across many areas including innovation, entrepreneurship, economic development, engineering, and information technology in both the public and private sectors.In the public sector working for the State of Georgia, Steve served as the Executive Director of the Georgia Centers of Innovation leading a wide-ranging program to provide the State’s strategic industries with technical industry expertise, collaborative research and partnerships help them to grow globally. He also served a part of the senior leadership of the Georgia Department of Economic Development during a period when Georgia was named the ‘#1 State for Business’ for seven consecutive years. In the private sector, Mr. Justice provided technical and managerial leadership for teams composed of major North American, European, and Asian companies while serving at Lockheed-Martin, Gulfstream Aerospace, Northrop, Delta Air Lines, and The Ginn Group in addition to founding two Georgia based companies. Mr. Justice participated in the development, certification, and support of several notable aircraft including Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor and C-130J Hercules as well as the Northrop B-2 “Stealth Bomber” and the Gulfstream G-IV business jet. He is a former FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) and is currently a Licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia.Steve is the current Treasurer of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and a member of the Board of Trustees. He is a former member of the Board of the Georgia Intellectual Property Alliance, the Georgia Institute of Technology School of Aerospace Engineering Advisory Council, the Georgia Southern University College of Engineering and Computing Advisory Council, and a former Secretary of the Aerospace States Association. Mr. Justice is an AIAA Fellow and has been listed as one of the “100 Most Influential Georgians” by Georgia Trend Magazine and by Atlanta Magazine as one of the “Top 500 Leaders in Atlanta”. In addition, he has received numerous other honors including the prestigious Red Dot Design Award by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany; induction into the Georgia Institute of Technology “Council of Outstanding Young Engineering Alumni”; and the AIAA Distinguished Service Award.
