Steve is Managing Director of BCG Pension Risk Consultants I BCG Penbridge (BCG) and a member of BCG's Executive Management team. He has over 20 years of experience in defined benefit pension consulting. Steve primarily focuses on helping defined benefit plan sponsors evaluate plan cost, consider pension de-risking alternatives, and choose annuity products and insurance companies. Steve also advises insurers on pension risk transfer (PRT) market entry preparedness and reinsurance placements.At BCG, Steve is a lead consultant for PRT analysis and annuity placement transactions, supporting plan sponsors in both their settlor and fiduciary capacities. Additionally, Steve is responsible for creating new channels for BCG's services, and developing new solutions and services that drive BCG's growth. Steve is also a regular speaker at industry events on pension cost and risk issues and authors or co-authors numerous articles, spotlight series Q&A interviews and surveys on these topics, including the featured article each month in BCG's highly followed industry newsletter, The BCG Pension Insider.Prior to joining BCG, Steve was Founder of Penbridge Advisors, a specialist pension risk transfer advisory and information services firm, which was acquired by BCG Pension Risk Consultants in February 2018. In June 2020, BCG Pension Risk Consultants announced it will do business as BCG Pension Risk Consultants I BCG Penbridge.

Founded first of its kind pension risk transfer industry database to help DB plan sponsors and advisors become informed about the PRT market. The database included the Penbridge PRT Index which is now the longest standing PRT Index in the US.

Involved in all aspects of helping P-Solve (rebranded to River & Mercantile and now Agilis) grow its US business including strategic initiatives, new business development and client consulting.

As Head of Pension Solutions Group, led five-person team based in New York and London to advise Lazard’s global client base on defined benefit pension risk and solutions.

Developed global pension risk management framework to help multinational companies identify, quantify and prioritize asset-liability risk exposures at the individual plan and global levels. Served as investment practice lead for joint investment/actuarial business development with US based multinationals centered on a coordinated approach to helping clients manage pension risk internationally.
