Steve Kehlet is a Sr. Software Architect at RIS Rx. He possess expertise in unix, linux, software development, databases, java and 35 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I worked with Steve for over seven years at Mirth and NextGen. I first became acquainted with him when I started working on the help desk at Mirth. I quickly realized how helpful and how hard of a worker he was. During one customer issue surrounding an SSL certificate that I was unfamiliar with he offered to jump on a call with me and the client and successfully walked the customer through the correct steps in updating the certificate. During after hours customer issues I quickly learned I could rely on him in a jam. During my year on the help desk it was a relief knowing I had someone so senior to me willing to lend a hand and help out in a pinch. During the office Christmas party in 2012 the President of Mirth, Jon Teichrow, asked me what I wanted to work on when I moved off of the help desk. I had been so impressed with Steve and interested by the Appliance project he worked on that I asked Jon if I could work with Steve. Over the next few weeks I started working more closely with Steve and began transitioning into Appliance work. Steve was extremely helpful and took the time to mentor me on PHP and the Appliance codebase. During early to mid 2013 we focused on delivering the Roundup project which quickly became one of the most important internal tools at Mirth. Steve has always kept up to date on new technologies and dug into AngularJS and Elasticsearch to incorporate them into Roundup which paid off big in the long run. During my time working with him, Steve was always quick to call me over and meet face to face to discuss a bug, feature, or customer ticket. When I joined the Appliance team and started working with him more frequently he would never hesitate to pair program with me and walk through a specific issue and the best way to approach it. He always asked for my input on features and gave me a leg up whenever I needed it. He also managed to stay calm and collected when working on customer issues and worked to resolve them as best as he could. I can easily say I learned more about programming, debugging, architecture, networking, source control, and customer service under his tutelage than I did in college. I wouldn't be half the engineer I am without him.", "Steve is a rare talent who understands architecture, product development, CICD, testing, monitoring/alerting/trending and site reliability engineering. He improved a number of infrastructure software areas from reducing our tomcat startup time to replacing our memcache single point of failure with Redis to automating Redshift setup and restores with Terraform. Steve has a wide range of skills that any company would be lucky to have. In addition, he always has a positive demeanor even in the face of a long list of problems to solve. I can't recommend Steve enough for his common sense, bias to action approach to software development and infrastructure development.", and "I am the kind of person and engineer today because of Steve. It is very hard for me to explain, but Steve is the kind of person that will humble you with his humbleness. I was first assigned to work under Steve as an intern. But from the very beginning, Steve has always shown me respect in giving me his time and knowledge. At the time, the gap in experience between Steve and I were huge, and yet he treated and lifted me onto the same platform that he was standing on. Steve is smart (architect level), an absolute pleasure to work with, and most of all, humble. These are the traits of a rare hire. I have seen his humbleness first hand where he gave me 100% credit for the work that I contributed 20% to, while he contributed 80%. Steve will boost any company that he belongs in. Because of Steve, I have strived to model after him going forward in my career."
