The Community Endeavors Foundation was founded by trustees Bill Fullmer, Steve Killpack and Jim Parker in 1992 as an Ohio Charitable Corporation and a Private Foundation. The three schoolmates, all of whom grew up in Northeast Ohio, shared a vision of "giving something back to the City of Cleveland and its families" in honor of their own families and their childhoods. The Foundation engages in grantmaking, direct charitable activities and provides technical assistance to fatherhood providers and small community based grass roots agencies. In addition, the Foundation is a recognized leader locally, statewide and in the Midwest region on programs and policies related to low income fathers and families.

The Healthy Fathering Collaborative (HFC) of Greater Cleveland was formed by the Community Endeavors Foundation in 2001. The mission of the HFC is to develop, promote and deliver services for fathers, father figures and adult male mentors over the lifespan of fatherhood, beginning with young men who are not yet fathers, through pregnancy, childbirth, early childhood, the school years and mentoring young adult males. The HFC became a freestanding public charity in 2014. The agency currently provides direct services to fathers; promotes community-wide healthy fathering events and campaigns; delivers performance and outcome data consultation to grass roots agencies in the network; and coordinates a network of public and private agencies serving fathers and families.
