As a corporate security manager and former senior leader for the UK Police Service I bring a blend of strategic vision, strategic implementation (for which I have been particularly recognised) and operational capability.During my police career I gained several trained skills which I used extensively. These include command of national public order operations; firearms command; large scale events, including sporting events; internal critical incident management; command of kidnap, hostage and siege; serious crime investigation; intelligence and directing health and safety.These hard skills were complimented by training, experience, and qualifications in leadership; delivery and management of training; program management and evaluation; executive coaching and managing diversity. Using these skills have enabled me to have a long successful history of leading and developing teams and individuals as well as being a valued team member at every level of a large organisation. I gained a reputation for bringing together successful partnerships with external organisations including public, private and voluntary sectors and I am particularly proud of schemes that assisted in the rehabilitation of offenders into the workplace. I have continued to use, develop, and add to those skills since my transition to the private sector. Initially assisting a large corporation organise and deliver a global crises management program. Latterly moving into the broader area of security management – leading the building and delivery of security provision within a large region of a global enterprise. I believe in continual improvement both at an individual and organisational level and have continued my learning – particularly in relation to physical security and managing diversity.In tandem with my professional endeavours, I have been a volunteer for many years which have included leadership within the Scout Association, and as a School Governor, I continue to mentor individuals outside my organisation. My main personal aim throughout is to make a positive difference.
