Thus, it is critical for the brewery’s communication not only to keep up with demand but stoke the fire and strengthen the brand in an extremely competitive landscape.

    Hired as the first official marketing employee the for the distillery after eight years in business. I quickly went to work building a new website, creating and cataloging visual brand assets including photos, videos, logos, pos and merchandise to match a recent label update for all Laws Whiskey expressions. A national PR effort was created to show off new labels, help launch new markets and tell the unique story of Laws Whiskey House. A social media coordinator was hired to elevate the brand and provide focus on key social media channels like Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. Worked on new market expansion campaigns for Florida, Georgia and California. These efforts helped Laws navigate the complexities of operating a growing distillery during the first year of the COVID pandemic. Marketing and communication platforms were in place to sell whiskey online for home delivery, release rare single barrels at the distillery and raise money for out of work bartenders with the “Reyed It Out” national cocktail campaign.

    Hired as the first full time employee of this key industry non-profit trade association to handle day to day operations and brewery membership recruitment. I created lasting promotional and fundraising events like Colorado Craft Beer Week, Collaboration Fest, Sesh Fest, Lake Dillon Beer Fest and Colorado Pint Day just to name a few. These and other events raised over $220k in annual revenue to help grow the association and support three full time employees. In 2016, the Colorado Craft Brewers Summit was created as the first statewide craft brewers conference complete with seminars, receptions and a full trade show of 40+ companies showcasing themselves to Colorado brewers and breweries. Worked with the Colorado Tourism Office, Visit Denver and other key local destination marketing organizations to promote Colorado beer to beer lovers all over the world. To further elevate Colorado’s stellar reputation for high quality beer and endless number of breweries (400+), I worked to brand Colorado’s craft beer industry. Thus, Colorado, The State of Craft Beer was born. One of the only states with a comprehensive brand and slogan to promote the beer community. Today the brand has its own website, merchandise line and is used by many brewery and tourism industry partners around the state to continue to make Colorado a leader in craft beer.
