FSW development for LizzieSat satellite (Sidus Space)

Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) of flight software for Sierra Nevada's Dream Chaser spacecraft.

Lucy Spacecraft (launching Oct 2021)Lead test engineer for spacecraft main computer, CDH (Control Data Handling)Worked closely with testset designers to modify pre-existing testset to provide functionality for Lucy spacecraft. Added tests for new UUT cards including an Analog data acquisition card and a Bus Interface card. Used TCL on Linux platform as well as Python with Tcl/Tk for GUI development.

On contract to CableLabs developing next generation WiFi.C++ on embedded Gateworks with OpenWRT platform.

Developed target-based C++ embedded test software (on VxWorks OS) along with SunOS host-based TCL scripts to debug and test flight hardware for InSight Mars Lander program. Involved reading hardware schematics, use of logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, programming of testset hardware (various I/O cards, GPIB power supplies, etc). Worked closely with hardware designers, FPGA coders and flight software developers to expose/solve problems in hardware and software. Initially worked on CDH (command data handler) CMIC (CDH Module Interface Card), then integrated remaining cards on the CDH box. Supported CDH box testing through thermal and vibration testing.Also developed Linux-based TCL scripts to formally validate various flight software components. Involved understanding of all flight mission phases within several flight software modules.

Developed Java tools to transform satellite image database files from GeoEye Inc into DigitalGlobe's internal format.

Using C++ on embedded Linux platforms (Angstrom/OpenWRT), developed/modified device drivers for several hardware chips providing sensor inputs (temperature/voltage), GPIO discretes (via I2C) and watchdog timers. Developed high level code that used driver outputs via Linux sysfs files. Secondary task included integrating wireless smartphone app with embedded application code. Used Wireshark tracing/tcpdump to debug proprietary protocols.Participated in daily scrums within an Agile environment.

Design, prototype, develop, debug, test and document web based email client to access multiple accounts across differing security level networks. Tasked with exploring new and existing technologies to determine optimal solution for intended customers. Evaluated, selected and installed development and test environments/tools. Defined and prototyped initial architecture using UML,Java,Javascript and PHP. Lead 4 person team in full development, debug, test and documentation.

Juno Spacecraft (launching Aug, 2011)Developed test scripts for Juno Spacecraft flight software using Tcl on Solaris workstation. Worked within the LM Software Test Environment utilizing TRACE, SoftSim, Tickler and DOORS as well as the JPL based tools for uplink command creation and scenario modifications. Primary area of test was the attitude knowledge portion of Guidance Navigation and Control (GN&C)

Developed Model Driven Architecture for next generation enterprise routers. Using UML in Rational Software Architect RTE environment. Generating embedded C++ code to run on a PowerPC target. Tools and utilities written in Python with PyGTK+ GUI front ends.
