A Town Clerk since 2011 after considerable experience as a Senior Manager in the Public Sector. I enjoy the position of autonomy and authority but also being really close to what is happening to real people including the every day services that are important to them. I am fortunate to work with a small but wonderful bunch of people and I go to work never quite knowing what the day will bring. Previously I have been the strategic lead for ICT, Customer Services and Organisational Development (inc HR) and I was also a Finance Manager in a London Borough for a few years All of this has given me huge breadth of experience.Following the construction of a community building in Tower Gardens Skegness, we were awarded £0.5m Towns Fund Grant to improve the gardens in which the building sits. We developed a Masterplan and the Grant covered most costs of phase 1 which completed in April. We refurbished the pond, improved paths and establish a sensory planting area. As yet unfunded phases, include accessible play and a heritage/sensory trail. We hope the £20m Government Long Term Plan for Towns will help to deliver more priorities in the Town and I am a member of the Town Sub Committee.I am Skegness Town Council's longest serving Town Clerk having served over 13 years, my longest time in any job. I think I have made a difference.
