Oshkosh Defense test site lead at Yuma Proving Grounds, Yuma, AZ - JLTV platform

•Lead, manage, coordinate, and execute all aspects of the Thermal Management Group and Powertrain Validation Group co-joint summer and winter field test programs focusing on full vehicle system integration and validation, engine operation and cooling performance, and exhaust aftertreatment performance•Work with key individuals at the various PACCAR divisions (Peterbilt, Kenworth, DAF, and PACCAR Technical Center) to determine and define component content, vehicle platforms, operation parameters, and data collection instrumentation necessary for each field test program•Develop field test program timeline, schedule, and test plan details•Coordinate vehicle retrofits, installation of data collection instrumentation, and other preparation tasks on the selected test vehicles•Review, process, and analyze collected data for system operation performance against governing standards and requirements

•Engine performance calibration lead on Fast Idle Control (FIC) and Power Take Off (PTO) device applications across all Peterbilt and Kenworth vehicle platforms•Manipulate and tune PID controllers to stabilize engine operation conditions based on sensor data collected indicating operation performance•Provide calibration updates to be integrated into upcoming engine control software releases•Review and verify that engine control software releases provide for as-designed operation of FIC and PTO applications •Participate in road test operations to further develop engine software controls•Assist with diagnosis and resolution of PTO-related issues with Customer trucks currently in use or at dealerships/body builders

•Engineering and management lead at off-site office located at Nevada Automotive Test Center, providing prototype testing support (Dec 2013–Aug 2014)•Schedule, manage, develop budgets, and organize all projects involving T&D as lead POC on the FMTV (U.S. Army 2.5 ton – 10 ton medium duty trucks consisting of 17 different variants) and P-19R (USMC fire truck) which involves direct interaction with the Customer to identify and develop user needs•Vast cross-functional knowledge across multiple vehicles and their ancillary equipment/systems•Schedule, manage, and conduct testing in support of design, development, and manufacturing to include new components, sub-systems, and entire vehicles•Document all test findings and present to engineering/management as well as customers•Direct interaction with design engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, product suppliers, customers, and end users within the military wheeled vehicle market•Four direct reports; one Test Engineer, three Test Technicians

•Developed and conducted life cycle and cyclical bench tests•Orchestrated and specified installation of data collection instrumentation on vehicles, conducting dynamic vehicle tests recording component accelerations and material strain •Organized all T&D tasks for the Canadian TAPV (Tactical Armored Patrol Vehicle) competitive runoff: provided support and assistance to design engineering and manufacturing during the build and development of the vehicle to meet the customer’s demands, organized and led all facets of the test site support and operator training at Aberdeen Test Center during the competitive runoff (2011)•Engineering and product development support for the Australian Land 121 Phase 3 (medium and heavy duty cargo vehicles) competitive runoff in Australia (2009)•Travelled to off-site test installations and provided Test Site Support at Aberdeen Test Center, Yuma Proving Grounds, and Nevada Automotive Test Center on various Oshkosh military vehicles•Actively worked on HEMTTA4, PLSA1, PLST, HETA1, FMTV, M-ATV, TAPV, and MTVR military medium/heavy duty wheeled tactical and combat vehicles, which are largely comprised of commercial off the shelf components

•Assisted in the set-up and operation of engine cooling, AC performance, and windshield defrost testing to develop Class 6, 7, and 8 Commercial Vehicle powertrain systems•Redesign of Component Wind Tunnel - defined goal of redesign efforts, completed calculations and worked with an air duct design specialist to develop geometry of air intake plenum

•Assisted in setting up and running of engine cooling, AC performance, and windshield defrost testing to develop Class 6, 7, and 8 Commercial Vehicle powertrain systems•Organized and orchestrated automatic transmission cooler test

•Sized heating/ventilation ducts based on compressor size and individual room requirements•Utilized AutoCAD to manipulate floor plans
