As a seasoned policy professional, energy economist, and electric utility regulatory analyst, I bring over 25 years of experience at the intersection of distributed energy resources and the future grid. My career has been dedicated to unlocking the potential of distributed energy resources and shaping the policies that drive our transition to a clean energy future.My journey began as a graduate student, where I researched the value of distributed solar photovoltaic systems under the U.S. Department of Energy’s support. My dissertation, "Photovoltaics Technology for Sustainability: An Investigation of the Distributed Utility Concept as a Policy Framework," laid the foundation for much of my future work. I was privileged to be part of the pioneering research team at the University of Delaware, which established the analytical basis for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) systems. Our work, particularly the co-authored article "Electric Vehicles as a New Power Source for Electric Utilities" with Dr. Willett Kempton, is widely recognized as the seminal piece in V2G literature, having been cited over 1,500 times.Throughout my career, I've provided direct testimony, technical reports, and detailed analyses in regulatory proceedings across states such as Michigan, Maryland, New York, California, and Pennsylvania.
