Steve was raised in San Antonio as an avid Spurs fan and attended W.H. Taft High School on the City’s northwest side. Upon graduation, he received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy and received his B.S. in Civil Engineering Degree. Following graduation, he commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF and had several active duty assignments. He returned home and transitioned into the USAF Reserves and last served as the Operations Officer for the 433rd Civil Engineering Squadron at Lackland AFB. He separated from the USAF at the rank of Captain in 2012 and received his honorable discharge in 2014. Steve began his civilian career in 2006 in the private land development sector as a civil engineer designing and preparing civil construction plans for Commercial, Multifamily, and Retail projects. He is a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas and is currently a Senior Project Manager at CDS Muery. His portfolio of projects include In-N-Out Burgers, the Rivera Luxury Apartments, CVS Pharmacies, CST Brands Cornerstores, Vantage Apartments, as well as a multitude of K-12 and higher educational projects.Steve has completed three half-marathons and loves to run in local 5K's for charity. He serves at Community Bible Church, his home church, and is an active volunteer with several organizations. He currently sits on two non-profit boards with SJRC Texas, as a Governing Board Member, and the North East Educational Foundation, as a Board of Director. He also served on the Executive Leadership Team with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Event, and was also a former member of the City of San Antonio Planning Commission’s Technical Advisory Committee, as well as a past community advisory board member for SA Youth.[Proverbs 3:5-6]
