I’ve been a designer since 2005, starting my career as a Graphic Designer. During those early years, I worked extensively on print publishing, marketing collateral, and packaging, which laid a strong foundation in visual communication and branding. My journey in design took a significant turn in 2012 when I discovered my passion for Product Design.Over the past 12 years, I’ve led transformative design initiatives across various industries. At Syntellis Performance Solutions, I overhauled a healthcare design system, ensuring it was user-centric and efficient. At Dropbox, I redesigned the support user experience, making it more intuitive and user-friendly. Currently, at Platform Science, I focus on developing user-centric interfaces for the trucking industry, creating safer and more efficient shipping methods through innovative IoT solutions. In my current role, I manage IoT software that monitors heavy-duty truck machinery and proactively notifies potential issues to prevent downtime and safety hazards. This role allows me to combine strategic ideation, UX research, and engineering collaboration to enhance fleet management and vehicle safety. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how this technology improves daily operations, keeping drivers safe and ensuring smooth business operations.Mentoring is a key aspect of my career. At SIDE PRJCT, I empower junior designers and product managers through hands-on projects and career coaching. I emphasize techniques like breadboarding and visual chunking to align design with user needs and business goals, fostering better collaboration within teams.Consistency in processes and systems is crucial in product development, a belief shaped by my love for building things from scratch since a young age. I started my design journey with Photoshop in 2005 and have been hooked ever since, continuously evolving and adapting to new challenges.Outside of work, I find inspiration in surfing, traveling, and exploring nature through biking, hiking, and camping with my son and wife. These activities offer fresh perspectives that often inspire my design work in unexpected ways.
