As Head of the Rugby Academy at South Devon College, I was responsible for developing and implementing strategic programmes to advance the performance and standards of rugby within the college. I was responsible for the coaching and development of students, ensuring that their rugby training and development aligned with their academic commitments. My role encompassed the promo@on of recruitment to the Academy (among registered SDC students), designing training programmes, and managing the Academy's administration and acting as liaison with ProDirect which sponsored the Academy. I liaised with external bodies, including regional and national rugby associations including the RFU on safeguarding standards and with ECRFU (England Colleges Rugby Football Union). I was also responsible for promoting the academy's successes through various channels, contributing to the wider reputation of South Devon College.
