Frontend Web Developer
Current• Daily tasks include completews tickets for the IT department generated by the IT Service Help Desk, which involve uploading PDF documents to both static and public websites (Drupal). Sometimes tickets are addressed directly and required to build pages upon request often on our intranet (ADCNET). Have experience working with HTML and CSS/Bootstrap 4/5 when working on our intranet website (Drupal - CMS).• Other times requests are made to edit JavaScript and JSON data on our intranet pages.• Current work role is rebuilding our new Intranet using Bootstrap 5, CSS, SCSS, JavaScript, and Tasks involve completing assigned pages weekly for code review, mockup changes, and final revisions in the final week as a part of a team of Developers. Tool used: Visual Studio Code• Work spent involves setting up configurations and schema designs for Apache Solr (version 8). Tools such as Bash, CMD, PowerShell, and Cygwin allow accessing schemas via command line tools using curl to manage an HTTP server. Data is stored in JSON, CVS, XML, which is indexed directly to Solr with created fields that can be queried or show highlighted results.• JavaScript coding skills involving editing scripts to manage API calls via Apache Solr from object data stored in object arrays using GET/POST requests to the server.• Completed an Apache Solr project requiring, reinstallation of Solr and Nutch on a new Linux server. This also required knowledge of document indexing, schema (request handlers), core/collections, documents/fields, query parsing, Restful API (updates via xml), CORS update, xml configuration setup, Linux terminal server navigation, and JavaScript knowledge which managed the web display.• Knowledge of using a Linux terminal, command line structure, package installations, displays (ls / parameters, pwd), and other tools used while managing the Linux server. Api testing in Google Chrome to verify HTTP request received.
