I’m currently the Northern Regional Manager for AREC Emergency Communications, where I oversee, guide and mentor groups throughout the upper north island supporting the delivery of emergency communications. In addition, I have a strong background in education, having been employed as a lecturer at both a polytechnic and a private training institute. My previous roles included teaching and developing a wide range of subjects, from electric/hybrid vehicles and auto electronics to computing, coding, robotics and project management, helping students gain practical skills and theoretical knowledge from levels 2-7.My career has been driven by a passion for serving the community and sharing knowledge. I thrive on building connections, problem-solving and seeing others have those "lightbulb moments" that make challenging concepts click. I have a broad range of expertise in adult education and literacy, computing, telemetry, coding, project development, CAD and additive/subtractive technologies. I’ve had the privilege of being recognised as Employee of the Year at the Eastern Institute of Technology, where I also led the creation of a technology space and developed the first national Tech Week programme for the institute, an initiative that has since expanded into multiple community-driven projects.I’m motivated to help people and communities grow, whether it’s through innovative education programs, facilitating tech-driven solutions or offering guidance to solve challenges. I’m always excited to network, collaborate and contribute wherever possible.In my spare time you’ll find me enjoying my hobbies, which include holidaying in random places, adventure motorcycling, amateur radio and tinkering at Haututu Hacklab.Ultimately, my goal is to continue fulfilling my vision of making a positive impact on others, whether through my professional work, mentoring or by sharing knowledge and expertise with my community.
