The role of the Local Area Coordinator (LAC) is to assist people to navigate the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). As part of this, we provide planning and coordination for people with disability to maximise the choice and control over the services they use, linking them to information and support in their community.LACs help people with disabilities, their families and informal support networks understand and access the NDIS (including workshops or individual conversations), develop an NDIS Plan (by learning about their current situation, supports, and goals), implement the Plan (helping find and start receiving services), provide assistance throughout it and also Review and make changes to it.
