Steve has attended well regarded education institutions, has been fortunate to work alongside numerous industry experts, and engage with high profile industry stakeholders.Steve is proven in leading wide ranging and complex opportunities, and most importantly, leading teams to high performance outcomes.. He has an inquisitive mind, sound commercial acumen, and the ability to think clearly, strategically and tactically.During his career, Steve has provided organisational leadership across various business critical and high value functions, key external relationships, and managing uncertainty.Most of all, Steve displays an honest, professional and common sense attitude that instils confidence in others. Steve is the Deputy Chair of the South Australian Government's Minerals and Energy Advisory Council (MEAC), and also been a past member of the University of Adelaide's Energy, Mining and Resources Advisory Board. Steve is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course (GAICD) and is also a Fellow of FINSIA (FFINSIA).Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, keeping fit, and also has a keen interest in thoroughbred racing and breeding. In his youth, Steve was an active sportsman, having played cricket and football for many years. Steve also had a successful career as an Australian Rules football field umpire, including short stints (whilst at university) with the Australian Football League (AFL / VSFL) and the South Australian National Football League (SANFL).

Various Leadership And Advisory RolesWoodside Energy Aug 1997 - Feb 2007Perth, Western Australia, AuSteve was employed at Woodside for nearly 10 years and worked on high profile opportunities across various asset types and business units. During this time, Steve developed an excellent understanding of Woodside, and more broadly Asian gas markets, large scale oil and gas projects, and undertook detailed analysis of other companies and assets in various Australian and international jurisdictions. Commencing as a Business Analyst in 1997, Steve worked in the North West Shelf Joint Venture and led all LNG related and domestic gas investment analysis and opportunity screening. This included working closely with technical team members and LNG / domestic gas sellers, and providing detailed analysis to underpin infrastructure investments such as LNG Train 4, large offshore developments, and a new major pipeline.Steve progressed into more senior and advisory roles, including time in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group, which included responding to Shell’s hostile takeover bid, undertaking due diligence activities on potential domestic and international acquisitions, and developing regional enhancement / new area business growth strategies.Steve was appointed to the role of Timor Sea Area Manager in 2004, and was successful in leading the operational and regional strategies, including optimising production sharing contract outcomes for assets in the Joint Petroleum Development Area.Steve’s final role at Woodside was Browse Commercial Manager, where he was responsible for the development and delivery of all upstream commercial matters for the Browse LNG Project - which at the time was being rejuvenated following many years of minimal activity.As a senior commercial leader, Steve was also heavily involved in the development of commercial capability within Woodside, advising Executives on high profile matters, and supporting peers and junior employees. -
