Steve commenced his career in elite sport developing best in class monitoring and injury prevention programs. Following 10 years in professional sport Steve moved to the NSW Police Force where he drove the expansion of a health service concept to a now business as usual function. Health and wellbeing program design and implementation led Steve and his family to move to Hobart in 2019. Steve designed a proactive health and wellbeing program for Tasmania's Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management and Ambulance Tasmania (DPFEM & AT). The design was selected, and Steve then supported the implementation and engagement of this program. The program launched in September 2019, has won various awards and continues as a business-as-usual function within Tasmania’s emergency services. In January 2021 Steve commenced as CEO of Healthy Business. Healthy Business provides health and wellbeing programs around Australia. Most of Healthy Business' work is with corporates, including large multi-state employers such as Rio Tinto, Bega Group, Pacific National and Fonterra. This role has provided Steve with experience in executive leadership, commercial experience, as well as service design and delivery. Healthy Business was acquired by St Lukes in June 2023. Steve was then appointed also as CEO of Salveo Healthcare, a not for profit that exists to keep Tasmanians out of hospital and enjoying a healthy life at home in their community. Prior to the acquisition of Healthy Business, Steve served as a director of the company. Following steeping down from director Steve actively sought a directorship within an organisation with impact across Tasmania for the next phase of his career. Steve was recruited by Palliative Care Tasmania, commencing as a Director in October 2023. To deepen his expertise in governance, Steve completed the AICD Company Directors Course in early 2023.

Working within the Tasmanian Health Service Emergency Operation Command (THS EOC) COVID-19 response April and May moving in to the Department of Health's Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) in June. The ECC Senior Lead – Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is responsible for the management of the ECC PPE Unit:• Effectively manage pandemic medical stockpiles (including PPE, pathology and ventilators) to ensure continuity of supply for the Department• Lead and manage a team in order to:o Maintain awareness of worldwide & national situation of PPE supplies.o Identification of emerging budget and financial management issues.o Purchase, coordinate and manage medical stockpiles centrally and develop contingencies, as required, for where appropriate levels of medical supplies cannot be maintained.• Provide direction, support and advice to the Health ECC and Health State Commander including briefings, minutes, reports, correspondence and other executive and official documents as required.• Coordinate responses related to PPE, Ventilators and COVID-19 related pathology to Parliament, Ministers, Public and Journalistic responses, Audit responses and similar.• Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders• Develop and implement appropriate strategies and policies to support the continuity of supply for the Department during the COVID-19 response• Liaise with and respond to external stakeholders at the multi-agency, inter-jurisdictional and national level to identify and manage PPE and supply attainment issues.
