Manage Farmington Hills Technical Center Gasoline Direct Injection High Pressure Fuel Pump and Rail design group. Supervise 3 design engineers directly. Lead all customer facing design issues for GDI engine programs. Project Engineer for Hitachi injectors and high pressure fuel pumps on Chevrolet/Ilmor IndyCar engine. Additionally responsible for pursuit of new business, including co-development programs, and overseeing direct injection engine and vehicle testing. • Received Second Place award in 2013 Hitachi America North American Inspiration of the Year competition for IndyCar fuel components program. • Met customer deadlines for high volume future fuel system program on time, including management of significant design changes and suppliers. Significantly reduced material cost of parts to maintain profitability.• Received Hitachi Bronze Patent Award for Injector Retaining Clip in March 2013 (US patent 7856962 B2). • Completed two levels of Hitachi management training in 2012 and 2014. • Improved Hitachi’s emissions test capability in North America in preparation for Euro 6c particulae emission requirements.

Part of international team for US customer, Japanese design group, and German manufacturing center.> Worked with purchasing, suppliers, and manufacturing centers in the US and Germany to determine most cost effective manufacturing location for product.> Prepared and conducted customer presentations to facilitate approval of high pressure pump design and process changes for increased robustness and manufacturability during prototype builds and production line preparation.

Design applications engineer for US customers. > Worked as part of a global team to launch new throttle body design (1M + units/year) on schedule. > Successfully launched new throttle position sensor technology on schedule with new customer by working with German supplier and head office in Japan. > Determined design risks for increasing costs and opportunities for decreasing cost for new business quote/design review processes for future programs and customers.> Customer engineer for manufacturing line localization move from Japan to the United States.> Increased Hitachi’s local knowledge base by launching new test equipment and to serve customers.
