At the core of helping people is changing their world, making it better. I have worked to pursue this goal throughout my career.As an industrial engineer, I embraced the ideas and tools of Lean. At it's heart, eliminating waste, is making a change to the world. Seeing many small projects come together to make a big change is incredibly rewarding. Launching a new product or production line requires one to be flexible and open to change. I have had the great honor of working in various industries, from automotive to consumer products and have seen how Lean impacts everyone.Communication is a key in all business endeavors, and I found that open and honest communications have been a key to success in my professional life. Working with people, listening to their issues and working with them to help solve problems and improve their situation is a great way to make a change in the world. I have discussed projects with operators, fellow engineers and managers as well as executives. Treating everyone with respect and remaining open and honest allows for everyone to be involved and improves our ability to succeed.I have been trusted to lead various teams, from hourly employees to engineering teams. Leading a team through a major change can be a difficult, yet rewarding experience. Open and honest communication, including frank discussions of abilities and areas of improvement are the most helpful to making a team out of a group of people.
