• Set up the design department studio and manage the ID, UI, and CMF teams.• Efficiently organize, manage and lead the design team, including the organisation of team building events etc.• Provide leadership, support and guidance to other members of the design team to achieve company targets and objectives.• Liaise with the marketing department and top management, initiating product designs at a strategic level.• Project planning, Project budgeting and Project management for each product development project.• Liaise and communicate with marketing team, distributors and end users directly; assess product design requirements and market trends; determine the roadmap for products over the next two to three years.• Evaluate and review all projects in studio; oversee the design quality and manage the project throughout the whole process until the product is in mass production.• Define the rational design process for Midea & Little Swan design teams: Create guidelines for the sketch output, 2D and 3D rendering, artwork, CMF etc.• Define the design language and PI, VI, UI guidelines for Little Swan and Midea brands.• Establish company guidelines to differentiate the brands for Little Swan and Midea products and communicate these effectively across the company.• Create the CMF library including the colour chips and material samples for LittleSwan and Midea products.• Create the model workshop to enable designers to make the block and appearance models.• Provide creative solutions to complex technical / design problems or issues as they arise.• Responsible for leading more than 40 design patent applications for the company.

• Lead the design of 4 types of “Ming” Series and 7 types of “WX” Series of mobile phone which achieved excellent sales success in the market place. “Ming" Series consolidated the position of Motorola’s intelligent mobile phones.• Liaise between Motorola China and Motorola Global Design Departments including the Chicago, Singapore, London, and Seoul offices etc., sharing and reviewing design knowledge across the group.• Liaise with internal marketing and external market research organisations to understand customer requirements and market opportunities for product design, and apply findings to the product design process.• Liaise with structural design, marketing, sales, software, electrical and hardware departments throughout the product development stages to safeguard both product quality and project schedule.• Liaise and negotiate with various suppliers including tooling, material, painting suppliers. Ensure the feasibility and the best solution for the production of prototype and product.• Participate in product launching conferences and product design introduction conferences.• Attend sales meetings with key customers such as China Unicom and China Mobile regarding customized product design requirements.

• Provide rapid and timely response to client instructions and feedback with regard to commissioned design projects to meet diverse requirements, as appropriate in an ODM company.• Act as mentor and project manager for junior designers and interns with regard to their project work; provide direction; set tasks and coordinate with various departments.• Use project development tools, design tools and other analysis methods to ensure project schedule, project quality, and process management stay on track.• Responsible for more than 10 types of mobile phone and router designs, including customized Toshiba Mobile phone with G450 USB modem feature. Customized WG-TWINS double SIM Card mobile phone for Vodafone in Germany.

• Work as member of the product design team preparing drawings and presentations.
