Steven J. Moreland, *CIEC, CEI, CES, CMI, CEC is the Sr. Vice-president & co-owner of American Metropolitan Environmental, Inc., possessing 27years of public and private sector experience in environmental consulting/inspection experience, encompassing a wide field of contaminants and hazards [i.e. asbestos, radon, bioaerosols (fungi, MVOC’s, & bacteria), environmental site assessments Phase 1& 2, and VOC's]. *The CIEC designation is dual-accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB).Prior to launching AMEI in 1995, Steve was employed by USD 259 – Wichita Public Schools, Environmental Services Department (1987 – 1995), as one of the first asbestos inspectors in the State of Kansas. At the inception of the department, their primary assignment was to perform an inspection and produce an asbestos management plan for each district building. Eventually, the department became responsible for all environmental concerns for the district, including hazardous waste, underground and aboveground storage tanks, and blood borne pathogens.Steve maintains numerous certifications that encompass several environmental disciplines, is a graduate of Butler County Community College, of El Dorado, Kansas, with an Associate of Science degree, and was awarded the “Color of the Purple Award for Academic Excellence”.
