With over 30 years of Commercial Contract Management experience, I have worked on a number of complex infrastructure projects in the construction and engineering industry, specialising in high value rail projects in the UK and more recently in Australia.I have both hands-on and strategic experience of working on cutting edge capital projects using new technologies and solutions including Next Generation Signalling in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. In the UK I worked on multi-billion pound contracts for high profile projects on the East Coast mainline and the West Coast upgrade.During the last 13 years I have worked closely with many clients, creating long-term working relationships that have led to repeat business on a number of occasions. I have worked with most contractual models including partnering contracts, traditional contracts, PFI and PPP.I am a qualified Quantity Surveyor with an excellent understanding of contracts and commercial / financial elements of projects. Having worked for leading Consultancy businesses for the majority of my career I am used to working in diverse environments where I have been required to get up to speed quickly to start adding value.I have also been engaged by a number of clients to undertake the role of Independent Estimator responsible for providing an independent estimate review report on several rail project costings. I have also performed risk analysis and modelling through the use of various software tools.I have worked with most financial models including Target Cost, Fixed Price and Time and Materials. I have significant Change Management experience and have drafted and negotiated large changes to the projects I have worked on. I have managed small teams of staff and also provided coaching and mentoring to junior resources. I have led negotiations on a number of projects with a variety of private and public sector clients.
