And this is what I aspire to do every day. We need to successfully take an order, fulfill an order, and service an order…sounds simple but the fundamentals are paramount.I started my career with apparel retailer Abercrombie and Fitch in Columbus, OH. The month I joined coincided with the launch of the Abercrombie.com business and I quickly positioned myself in the burgeoning four-person department to learn and work across an entire business within a business, rather than in a singular department or function.To lead an eCommerce business, I needed to develop experience and proficiency across accounting, inventory control, tax, web development, legal, customer service, logistics, merchandising, marketing, warehousing, procurement, customer service, strategic planning…As eCommerce has evolved, I have evolved with it, having the fortunate opportunity to build, launch, and operate several large-scale eCommerce businesses and having led teams across almost every function within an eCommerce organization. A couple accomplishments include:1. Employee #2 building Express.com from $0 to over $500MM in revenue2. Led implementation of a custom, microservices platform for Eddie Bauer on scalable cloud infrastructure, resulting in 60% operating expense savings, while shortening innovation cycles from months to dayseCommerce and digital will continue to transform the world beyond just shipping packages or stores cannibalization.
